Rise and shine, and give God the glory, glory!
This is what I sometimes sing to my kiddos when I am waking them in the morning. It is a great reminder to be thankful for what the day will bring and to remember the One that has been gracious enough to give us another day.
I’ll admit I haven’t always been a morning person, and would be considered a reluctant morning person now, at best. But, I have learned that it is the best time to get things done (like running, quiet time, etc.) and it just so happens to coincide nicely with life on a farm.
Now that we have 2 chickens in residence, I think we get to officially call ourselves a “farm” :-). Besides, my friend Elaine at Heaven Scent Farms has assured me that these ladies are a “gateway” farm animal. I’ll admit, we are already planning our goat run and our official chickens aren’t even here yet!
Oh, so many stories to tell! I will try to keep them short and sweet, so check back often or subscribe so you can follow our adventures.
My hope for this site is to give you some insight into life on our humble farm in the woods. It should be a chronicle of our farm life and lessons learned from here forward, but I will be filling in occasionally with “catch up” stories to share a little of how we got to where we are.
Thanks for sharing in our adventures!
